Is your site trustworthy?

Unless you have millions in your marketing budget you're not going to become a household name overnight.

And if no-one has heard of you people will be skeptical about buying from you. FACT. This is where social proof comes in.

How do I create trustworthiness?

Trustbadges

You will have seen these before, every decent ecommerce site will have them. Little things like this instill confidence in your customers you're not going to steal their information or money.

About and FAQ pages

Again, just about every decent ecommerce site will have these. Its also beneficial for yourself because if customer can find the answer on your site they wont need to contact you. Make sure you include your contact details as well, this will give your customers confidence that they have someone to contact.

PayPal

This is a MUST. 65% of my sales are processed through PayPal. It’s a completely risk free way of customers to purchase something as card details aren’t given and they can claim there money back. You WILL lose sales if you don’t offer PayPal as a payment method.

Reviews

Again, another MUST. Seeing previous customer reviews is the best way of increasing your social proof. From day one start collecting reviews, email customers asking for them if you need to. Reviews show someone has purchased your product before and they like it.

There are several more methods and apps you can add or download to boost your social proof but there are the bare minimum that you should be including. To understand this properly you must get in the minds of your customer, or even ask yourself, would you buy from this site??

Thanks for reading, let me know your thoughts below!
