FIRST TIME HERE?

Health and family are my priorities in life, but after that? Wealth. I went through school kinda under the radar, I was never a top achiever but I wasn't near the bottom either. I made it to uni and after 2 years of failing my 1st year I decided to dropout. I got a job delivering groceries to pay the bills but I hated it, so I decided to get an office job and hated that too. I Didn't know what to do with my life except that I hated working for other people. So I started doing some research on the internet. I remember sitting in the atrium waiting for my girlfriend to finish her lecture and I was on google. I typed in 'how to get rich' and that was it. I read as much as I could and naturally one thing led to another and so on. The first book I ever read was Robert Kiyosaki's "Rich Dad Poor Dad". Brilliant book I suggest everyone reads it. I started watching people on Youtube and I came across Adrian Morrison. The first webinar I ever watched was by this guy and he showed me the dropshipping model. Naturally I loved it because of the freedom it offered so I decided to give it a go. 4 months later I quit my job and was now working for myself. Goal achieved. Now I work for myself and have a comfortable lifestyle the next thing I want is a Ferrari 458, hence the 458 at the end of all my social media names. Hopefully along the way I can help a few people who are in the same position I was too.

MY ECOMMERCE STORY

shopify sales image

Within 3 months of starting in eCom I was turning over 20k+ a month and decided to

quit my 9-5 job (which I hated). So as you can imagine I felt like I was on top of the

world. It was a dumb move because I naive and expected everything to be plain sailing.

However, things often went to shit, Facebook would change their algorithm, a shipment

would arrive half empty or Paypal would freeze my account because I was making

too much money (if thats ever possible?). Looking back now I wouldn't change my

decision to quit but I'd be lying if I said I never thought about going back. I'm glad I

didn't.

Currently I run 3 stores - all 3 through Shopify. They all started with the drop-shipping

model and once a product showed the right signs I would buy in bulk to increase my

profit margins and start building a proper brand. You've probably heard it before but

branding is where it is at, personal or company.

HOW DID I DO THIS?

Watching videos on Youtube, thats it. Over 1000 hours of youtube videos easily. I would

get home from my job and if I wasn't working out I was watching and learning on

Youtube. So theres no magic secret or special method but what I will say is theres a lot

of rubbish, take everything you see or hear with a pinch of salt.

Traffic is driven purely through Facebook Ads and email marketing, I use an app called

Mail Chimp to do this and its brilliant. If you're not using email marketing then you are

losing money every day. I had a go at Instagram influencer marketing and google

adwords and I failed, I'm not afraid to say it but I lost about £300. Don't get me wrong

though, I'm not saying they dont work because they 100% do, I just weren't educated enough in them. I will definitely be learning more about these and trying them again.

I source all my products from China; through Aliexpress when dropshipping and through Alibaba when buying in bulk. I now have 2 suppliers I talk to daily on WeChat. (Chinese Whatsapp) They can pretty much manufacture anything for me or if not then source it. I could spend more time finding suppliers for each niche or product but frankly the time involved in sampling etc is just not worth it at the moment.

OVERVIEW

It has its good points as well as it bad points but at the end of the day I love it, even today when I get the little ping when I've made a sale I get a huge buzz and that is what its all about. That is what has kept me going when things have gone bad. That is what has made me work 18 hour days and that is what allows me to now choose when and where I work. Is it for you? You'll never know until you try it. It's cheap to start so give it a go, commit 3 months and if you're not lying in bed so excited about it you cant sleep then move on and find something else.

MY PROPERTY STORY

Property was an interest I kinda "fell" into, being a student in a student town I was paying student prices. At the time my knowledge of mortgages, LTV's and interest rates was pretty much non-existant so it never even crossed my mind once about buying a property BUT one day I was speaking to a friend and he was moaning about how much his mortgage was and I was shocked. After realising how much a mortgage would of been on the apartment I was living in and the rental payment each month I knew I was being ripped off.

So I decided to buy a flat in the same complex I was living with the plan to eventually rent it out some time in the future. Four years down the line I currently have three flats each making over a 10% return. By no means am I making a fortune but they bring in a nice chunk of cash each month so I don't have to worry about being able to afford my living expenses.

Again, it hasn't always been a smooth ride, a tenant once flooded one of the flats twice! Both times forcing the people below to move out because the damage was so bad. If this was enough to put me off I would have stopped by now but I love the idea of building an empire of property and expanding into commercial stuff. It's a slow burner (at least for now) but will pay dividends in the future.

AMAZON FBA

I've done some retail arbitrage with Amazon FBA and made some good money but as my Shopify business grew it took a back seat as the amount of work required in comparison meant it made sense to put all my time into my Shopify stores.

Being more experienced now with sourcing products from China I have started a private label business and due to have my first product live in February 2018. Be sure to follow my Youtube channel to stay up to date with progress!

BRANDING AND AFILLIATE MARKETING

This is another work in progress really. I have included these two together as I think they go hand in hand. I've started my personal branding journey in January 2018 so I am very new to both. Hopefully as my brand starts to grow so will my income from affiliate marketing. Watch this space!
